  • Why should we hire you?

  • Have you ever faced a complex and challenging scenario? How did you cope with it?

Everybody has faced some difficult situation in their life. But your answer must be the situation where you could manage it rather than keep it as a problem. The question is aimed to test whether you can cope with challenging scenarios and situations efficiently. 

  • What are your views about the Rafale deal? Is it beneficial? What are current concerns related to it?

You are asked some questions related to the current affairs and challenges in the country, like your opinion about the Rafale jet deal. You must be prepared for all the related questions, such as what is this deal, how did the deal evolve, its benefits, challenges, disputes, etc. You must be answering with facts. 

  • Would you be able to go beyond the call of your duty?

Another frequently asked question in interviews of competitive exams like SSC, this is aimed to check whether you can skip other personal things if circumstances arise. You have to answer a yes to it. In the public sector, the circumstances and situations sometimes require additional efforts, and you must be prepared for it.  

  • Can you travel or relocate for the job?

Travelling shouldn’t be your concern. Answer a yes because you won’t need to travel regularly, but on specific occasions, which is fine. Regarding relocation, if it needs to be done with your entire family, then answer with your wisdom. However, don’t fake your situations. If you can relocate without any major problem, respond affirmatively.

  • Where do you see yourself in the next five years from now?

This question aims to check your belief and confidence in yourself. To meet their expectations, you can answer like I will see myself leading the team after five years and train others to prepare them for different roles. You can also say that you will implement new ideas for the department’s growth as a whole.

  • What attracts you the most about SSC and the public sector? Why are you going for the public sector?

This question is often asked to the SSC aspirants in the interview. Since it is a public sector job, you can begin by saying that you want to serve the public in the best ways. You can also add that this sector is more about the quality of service provided to the public, and less focused on profit. 

  • What are your strengths and weaknesses

Lastly, you can be asked about your strengths and weaknesses. You must answer it wisely and honestly. Don’t say that there are no weaknesses. You must share at least one weakness. Secondly, tell them about your strong points like leadership or management qualities, time efficiency, etc. Try to balance things.
